The Friendly Smiles of Asia, from Monks to Ladyboys
What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word, Asia? Sunny beaches? Varieties of cultures? Cheap, delicious food? While each country is different and unique in comparison to others, they all have these more or less if you go search for them. Be prepared for some of the most hospitable people you have ever met. To me, it is the people that make Asia alluring to us and keeps us begging for more. With the welcoming locals, ancient ruins, diversity in religions and stunning sunrises and sunsets, Asia is an adventure that suits every type of traveler. If noisy, polluted cities are you jam, you got Shanghai, Bangkok, Tokyo and Saigon. For those wanting a slower pace with some nature and a more laid back lifestyle, make your way to places such as Borneo, Jeju island, Sri Lanka's interior or the south end of Taiwan. Grab yourself a scooter and always, always embark on a train trip to really see what a country and its people are all about. Don't speak the language? Break out the charades skills!
