![]() For many, a visit to a UNESCO world heritage sight is dampened by the hordes of other tourists and buses that populate the area. It’s not just the tourists, but also the myriad of locals who line the temple areas chasing after unsuspecting tourists selling trinkets and books. Any thoughts?

What a great explanation about what these sites are about! I found this to be very enlightening and useful information for my own wandering and exploring. I had no idea there were that many sites and what the real significance and characteristics were. We even have a “UNESCO” category on our blog but never really got the significance till now so thanks! Again, great article!

I agree with you, they claim that they are preserving the past, but they are just being counter-productive. The tourists are littering in the place and harming it. Not to mention that locals who have no care with the so called tourist spot. That is indeed heart-breaking to see. I couldn't agree more.
